Masterchef!

It's been quite some time since I had last watched a... Erm... TV Serial, competition show, reality(?) show with so much anticipation & suspense. It's like, my heart was thump-thumping away. Hahaha.

And... The show's "Masterchef".

I rarely watched TV shows, and this is one of them. It's just amazing. And yip-pee to the results & the winner! Was so glad that the one fellow I supported early on in the show won the whole thing.

Will be looking forward to it's next series. "Junior Masterchef". But I think it will be a damn demoralizing show for me. Kids whipping out restaurant standard dishes. I'll be put to shame.

And... Hopefully, I'll be able to convert my license tomorrow. And I think I'll be taking up some lessons con-currently with my studies next semester. And hopefully, on top of working at some nearby shops.

Blank.

So... Work was rather dull yesterday. Spent the whole day pouring nougats into the tank. Good training though.

Had the day off today. Started a late night chat, which went early into the night. It was good. Catching up with friends in Singapore. Well, though had to forgo the movie session, but it's a cheap trade. Heh.

Did a number of stuff today. Cycled to get eggs from the oriental market. Went for some grocery shopping. Then had intended to go convert my driving license. But, bloody hell. How could I ever forget to bring my bank statement along with me? I actually remembered to bring the passport, ran back to get it actually, but I forgot the bloody bank statement. Argh. Irritating.

And......

My mind's a blank. I really should get to start blogging whenever I know what I want to put down, else, I'll just forget every single damn thing.

Oh. On a side note, I'm quite hooked onto Body Shop's moisturizer. The lemony one.

And I realised I'm getting kind of lazy to upload photos onto blogger nowadays...

Kind of like Homer Simpson.

"D'Oh!"

Work

Work... At the factory is pretty interesting. Sure, I repeat some or most of what I do every single day. But, once in a while, I get to do some new stuff. Here's a few photos form my workplace. Erm... I nick them while there weren't anyone watching. So, keep this to yourself.

Assorted Nougats ready to be packed.

The mess that the stupid machine made.

Packed.

And I keep getting cut from the stupid cardboard & nougats-packaging. Also, kind of stupidly seriously injured (sprain) my pinky. Right hand at that. Its still able to function. Just not that well. And it's oh-so-obviously swollen. Hahaha.

It's a good work out at the factory. Hahaha. Carrying stuff here & there.

And... It's about 2 more weeks to start of semester, including this week. I'm looking forward to it, but kind of dreading it as well.

And... Need to hurry up & settle my return.

Tired...

I've no idea why, but working 4 to 5 days a week, it's kind of taking a little toll on me. It's like, I feel tired each time I get home.

And... No pictures today. I wished I could take a picture of the container though, with some of them boxes inside. Hahaha.

So... Erm... Back to topic. Working. It's not that I hate it. It gives me some income, so, I'm all good. Just got to pull through. Just have it to take it like some 1 month outfield mission. Okay. Actually, that's more tiring.

Just the other day, was on Skype with Papa. I believed it was around 1800+hours. It just felt weird. 'Cos it's like, totally dark-night over here, yet it's bright as day over there. Although the time is the same, the lighting is totally different. Strange new experience.

Got my results from Semester 1 back. I think I did pretty decent. Though hoped that one of my units did better.

What else... What else...

Watched "Predators" yesterday. And damn, it's awesome. Action from start to end. Suspense that kills. It's like "Van Helsing". Action, action, action. Bam, boom, pow.

Work.

Okay. So, today, I went to work on my own. Took the bus, transferred to another bus. It was quite a distance. And it was my first time taking the bus there on my own as well.

And guess what. I overshot my stop. By a lot. A lot as in the distance, not the number of stops. Alighted & took the other direction. I intended to reach at 0800hours, but I was there at 0830hours. Not too bad I guess, considering the public transport here.

And I must say, the bus drivers here are generally very much nicer than those in Singapore. They're friendlier. Haha. It's like, I can tell them my travel-difficulty situation without a second thought. And it feels like they're genuinely interested in helping you. And not just 'cos it's their job. Very unlike those in Singapore.

And thankfully, I don't think I have to pay for the trip back. They have a very much different fare system here in Perth.

So, today, at work- Oh wait. I didn't state what I did, right? Basically, I'm kind of like a factory odd-job dude. From production line (packing boxes & dumping sweets into the mixer) to carrying weights to stamping stuff. That's what I'm doing so far.

Anyway, I so wish I could take my camera as I work. There's like 2 or 3 compositions I would like to take so far. I think it's quite exciting. Haha.

And it rained today.

And I really really extremely regretted not bringing my camera with me. I did on my first day. But not today. Damn it.

I was returning home, and it rained or was raining. And the sun was setting. That's approximately 1700hrs. And, like. Z.O.M.G. The sky was just fascinating. It was absolutely gorgeous. Like, there were the clouds in the shade of orange & pink. There was the sun, over the horizon (though blocked by buildings), its orange spears of light radiating from it. It was just beautiful. I could have confess to a girl with that kind of scenery.

And then, on the other side of the horizon, there was this queer color. I'm guessing it's pretty far away. Can't quite describe it, but, it was strangely beautiful as well.

Since I don't have a photo, could only find a similar picture. Oh, and I don't have to work tomorrow. Haha. Though I'm saying the work's okay, but it's pretty tiring. Good thing I've been through the Army & OCS. Been there, done that.

And just today's work, reminded me of those good old days of being in OCS. "Everything out, everything in." Or maybe things like, "How long did you think you took? I gave you 5minutes right. And you take 5minutes, 7seconds. Sa-mu-lah." And then after everything, "See, you can actually do it. 2minutes. Well under the timing I gave. Good, I expect things to be like this in the future."

Hahaha.

Pain.

Argh... Complete failure at attempts to making a new blog. Alright. Minute success. But major failure. I know blogger had a new underlying template. It's pretty cool. But hard to customise. Irritating.

My only saving grace is that I've started one at Word Press. I wish it was on blogger though. Easier to manage and the likes. Besides, blogger's interface looks very much cleaner.

Anyway, starting out a job tomorrow. But, will still keep at the drawings for sale thingy.

Good Food & Wine Show

Alright!

(I suddenly remembered that used to be my Secondary 3 & 4 class's catch phrase or signature war-cry kind of thing.)

Anyway, time for some photos. Not going to wait till 0200hours for that. I'll concuss before that.

Dinner, 270610.

Dinner, 270610.

Dinner, 280610. Lunch, 290610. Dinner(soup), 290610.

Dinner, 010710.

Teddy: "I want food! I want food!"

"Itadakimasu!" Dinner, 030710.

Double-deck sandwich.

Snow Crab (common).

So, there's my own cooked dinner that I had for the 7days I was home alone. Well, there were others, much simpler ones. I only took the simple & beyond ones.

And yea. Being alone does stuff to you. Not that I'm complaining. It *ahem* gives you inspiration for taking interesting photo shots/composition. Playing with your props yeah? I actually had a few more sandwiches stuff. But, I decided to stop them. I've done too many & it's taking quite an effort to continue them diligently.

About that crab, well, that's the commonly seen crab around Perth. In the Chinese restaurant at least. Kind of huge aren't they? Or maybe it's 'cos I haven't seen Singapore common crabs for too long and forgotten the usual size of it.

Talking about crabs, I was making a business trip to the old Turf Club one day. And... It was great fun. Hahaha. We (me & the secretary) didn't exactly got lost, but we got 'lost'. Yeah. And we chanced upon this seafood restaurant there (Chinese duh). And I tell you. Their crabs were bloody-big-ass-titanical-humongous. So big, they could become a chest plate and have their legs wrap around your body. Yeah.

Good Food & Wine Show 2010.

Golden Boronia.

Packs after packs of nougats

Fifth Leg. They had some dishes by Australia's Masterchef celebrities.

Mains by George Calombaris. Braised Chicken and Celery Fricassee.

Pretty crowded on Sunday. After the morning.

Dinner at some Korean restaurant. With authentic Koreans. Wow.

Yeah. So, my 3days at this Good Food & Wine Show was pretty interesting. And my dear cousin said she never heard me talked so much before. Hmph.

New & not so new people I saw there, there was Audrey. Yes, Audrey, Audrey. Haha. But a big difference between the 2. Haha. And, Day 3 saw someone new. Thea, so I think her name was spelled. And Day 3 was pretty busy. Maybe 'cos it's a Sunday, and it's the last day of the show. Oh well, good experience in all. Though every night back was filled with the smell of sausage & barbecued & grilled food.

And although they said it was a Good Food & Wine Show, with wine as the latter word, there seemed to be more wine than food. As in, seriously. Everywhere I walked, there was at least a stall which does wine or alcohol.

Oh, there was this one stall which had cheese ball. Fried cheese ball. And it. Was. Heavenly.

But it was pretty tough to be waking up so early. Like, the weather's cold, everything's cold. Except for the bed & underneath the blanket. Haha.

And well, since I had to wake up so early, I had to sleep early as well. And... I wasn't so comfortable with it at first. Been sleeping late for far too long, which kind of sucks. 'Cos i actually like waking up early. But here... I don't think so.

Erm... All in all, I think these 3 days were really interesting & fun. Got to see a thing or two.

And here's a picture of one of my best-est-best friend during the last week of June & possibly this month. I'd hugged it if it weren't so hot. Literally.

But I think I might have burnt one of me toys when I was trying to heat it up. Not too sure. 'Cos it smelled a bit charred... Sigh...

And one last thing. Something Tracy Jie had been harping on it ever since she saw it.

Well, not that it's something unpleasant. Once in a lifetime thing it was. Hahaha. Well worth it.

Chill. Cold. Freezing.

Okay. So today wasn't so bad after all. But, doesn't mean I've changed my mind about sales. Still, not that bad an experience.

And with regards to my permanent-temporary job. I'm seriously considering art now. As in, drawing stuff to sell. I'm guessing it's going to be a nightmare to actually start this 'project'. So, going to take it step by step. And the first, is planning things out.

And... My laptop feels damn cold to the touch now. Hate it when the weather gets cold. 'Cos it means my fingers will probably freeze when I start using it.

And it's getting unbelievably cold this few days.

The picture says it all. And it only gets colder & colder as the night progresses. And I think something's wrong with me. 'Cos I'm in a tee-shirt & shorts only right now. That, or I'm too good at adapting to changing climate. Haha.

But my fingers are still freezing. Boo.

Now... There was something I want to mention... But I just can't seem to recall what the bloody hell in the world it was... Argh. Me & my failing memory.

Nevermind. Photos tomorrow (hopefully)!

What Now.

Alright. So, I've got to wake up super duper early tomorrow. Need to be at the Convention Center at 0900hrs. Actually, I think it was 0930hrs. But since I'm not so sure, might as well be there earlier. Besides, it's only ½hr earlier. I can live with that.

So, I'm heading there for temporary work. Apparently, Veron needed people there, so she called me. But that doesn't mean I've stop my job-hunting. I'll always be on the lookout for jobs now.

And, I gave city going a miss today, since I'm heading out tomorrow. Just, taking the time to slack around at home now.

And I woke up late today. Alarm was set at 0930hrs. But I snoozed it till 1100hrs. Awesome right. Well, that's not good. Got to kick the habit of sleeping in. Even thought it's just so bloody comfortable to be snuggling under the blanket, warm & cosy. As opposed to waking up & facing the cold, splashing yourself with ice cold water.

And... The one week of home alone is about to end. No strange & bad guys to disturb though. Just weird noises & shadows here & there. Haha.

And I burnt the hairs off my left hand today. Accidentally. While cooking. 'Cos I hovered my hand a tad too close to the fire while shifting the pot. Damn it.

And to tell the truth. I'm kind of nervous to be going tomorrow. Hahaha. Sales. Not exactly my thing, yar? Still, got to work at it. Not my thing doesn't mean I don't have to do it. Just got to brave it & work it through. *Gulp*
